Carlisle Bannister III and Christy Dobrucky met in February of 2019 at Upper Shirley Vineyards. At the time, Carlisle was the the Operator and Executive Chef at Upper Shirley while Christy was working at Dominion Energy as an electrical engineer. Meeting at the Vineyard’s birthday celebration, they started dating a month later and got married in June 2020- blending their large families together.
When the Covid-19 mandates went into effect in March 2020, most weddings were canceled and the Upper Shirley restaurant was closed. Because of this, Carlisle was out of work for an unforeseeable amount of time. Carlisle’s love for cooking led him to cook meals for neighbors and friends. Christy managed the logistics to have them delivered with the help of their kids. What started as a necessity and a desire to help their neighbors, grew into what is now Supper Club.
